The creation of DMTG North America marks the beginning of a new era of rapid expansion, global alliances, and technology development and innovation for China's largest machine tool builder, according to Robert Mlakar, DMTG North America General Manager. "By combining the exceptional technologies, resources and experience of our American companies such as Ingersoll Production Systems and Ingersoll CM Systems, with DMTG's highly efficient production capabilities, customers here in the U.S. now will find that advanced, high quality technology is more accessible and, in many cases, affordable. "Our theme, 'Imagine what we can do together' is indeed symbolic of the strong synergies that now exist within Dalian, and between our companies and their customers," concludes Mr. Mlakar. "With more alliances, acquisitions and joint ventures on the drawing board, the future is very exciting."
Founded in 1948, Dalian Machine Tool Group has been ranked as China's largest, and most innovative machine tool builder for the last eight years. Its annual sales in 2007 were over $1.7 billion, and its line of products is fast expanding and includes vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, transfer lines, and special machinery. Strategically located in the beautiful port city of Dalian, Liaoning Province, the company has recently made a significant expansion of its facilities, putting 1.8 million sq. ft. "under roof". Today, DMTG has evolved into a world class supplier through several joint venture partnerships with other key manufacturers, and now ranks as one of the fastest growing machine tool companies worldwide. In October 2002, DMTG purchased Ingersoll Production Systems (IPS), a well-established, high quality machine tool builder. With a highly skilled engineering staff and unique integration capabilities, IPS specializes in the integration of the total process—fixturing, tooling, software, automation, custom fabrication, and auxiliary equipment—helping customers respond to fast-changing market conditions. In January of 2007, IPS established a new company, DMTG North America, located at the IPS facility in Rockford, IL. DMTG North America stocks over 100 types of DMTG machines in Rockford where all machines are tested and approved by IPS staff to ensure they are ready for delivery to customers. Future plans include adding a DMTG North America Headquarters in Chicago. DMTG North America joins the competitive cost advantages for stand-alone machine tools with a legacy of process engineering and system integration from IPS. We back this up with global service and support from the largest machine tool builder in China and soon a network of full servicing master distributors in North America. |
